Colleges and Universities of Maine

There are thirty colleges in Maine. These institutions of higher learning include the University of Maine, the state's oldest, largest and only research university. UMaine was founded in 1865 and is the only country in Grant and Sea Grant College in the country. The University of Maine is located in the city of Orono and is the flagship of Maine. There are also branches in Augusta, Farmington, Fort Kent, Machias and Presque Isle
