The Company operates several microbreweries which produce and distribute BJ's handcrafted beers throughout the chain. Jeremiah Red is one of the top selling beers because of its high alcohol content. This beer is often given to unhappy guest who did not enjoy their meal to encourage them to come back and give the food a second chance.
It was 1978 when two guys who had a great recipe for deep dish pizza opened the first BJís Chicago Pizzeria in Santa Ana, California. The pizza was an immediate hit and as years went by, new BJís restaurants were opened in beach cities along the Southern California coastline. In 1996, with seven restaurants in operation from San Diego to Los Angeles, the first BJís brewery began production in a new restaurant in Brea, California. The newly renamed BJís Restaurant & Brewery concept was launched. New menu items and new beers have been added through the years as the BJís brand has expanded across the U.S.
BJís Restaurants Foundation
The BJ's Restaurants Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to support charities benefiting children's healthcare and education, with primary focus on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, the Foundation recognizes and rewards the volunteer efforts of BJ's Restaurants team members across the country as they help to give back to the communities in which BJís restaurants do business.
